OKLAHOMA: Marine Corps Has Recruiting Day At Tulsa LGBT Center

Yesterday Marine Corps recruiters fulfilled an invitation to set up a table at Tulsa's LGBT community center.
The Marines were the service most opposed to ending the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, but they were the only one of five invited branches of the military to turn up with their recruiting table and chin-up bar at the center Tuesday morning. Although Marines pride themselves on being the most testosterone-fueled of the services, they also ferociously promote their view of themselves as the best. With the law now changed, the Marines appear determined to prove that they will be better than the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard in recruiting gay, lesbian and bisexual service members.
For different reasons, all three of yesterday's potential applicants were rejected. But not because they were gay.

Aubrey Sarvis On DADT Repeal

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network head Aubrey Sarvis gives the president huge credit for the repeal of DADT, but warns of the day when one of our enemies wins back the Oval Office.
"Most of the candidates say they would repeal the repeal. A new president could force the military to change the regulations, and we would go back to a post-Don't Ask, Don't Tell (when gays and lesbian were outright banned from the armed services.)"
Which is precisely why the Log Cabin Republicans are continuing to pursue their court case.
